The Nemuro Borderland Forum, which included a book talk of a recent publication Japan's Borders: How to Break the "Spell" and the Mayor Summit, was hosted in the city of Nemuro on Dec. 21. Over 120 people were in attendance that day including not only border and island studies experts but also citizens and people from the media to discuss themes such as the ongoing territorial border issues in Japan.
